En un golpe contra la delincuencia en el barrio El Carmen de Manizales, la Policía Nacional logró la captura de un individuo conocido como «El Búho», quien continuaba delinquiendo a pesar de estar bajo medida domiciliaria por un caso de homicidio en 2018.
El arresto se llevó a cabo gracias a la diligente labor de la Seccional de Investigación Criminal, luego de que una ciudadana fuera víctima de hurto con intimidación por parte de «El Búho» el pasado 12 de marzo en las calles del barrio El Carmen. La rápida denuncia de la víctima permitió la recolección de pruebas suficientes, incluyendo testimonios, videos de seguridad y reconocimientos, que llevaron a la expedición de una orden de allanamiento y captura.
A pesar de estar cumpliendo prisión domiciliaria por un delito de homicidio, «El Búho» continuaba cometiendo delitos que afectaban el patrimonio económico de la comunidad. Por ello, el juez revocó la medida domiciliaria y ordenó su reclusión en un centro penitenciario.
Esta captura es parte de los esfuerzos de la Policía Metropolitana de Manizales, que ha logrado la detención de 862 personas por diversos delitos en lo que va del año, incluyendo 140 arrestos por hurto.
